Every month we at Vertopia celebrate one woman who is doing amazing things in her space. Meet Rose Chinaza Okafor our Vertopia Super Woman for the month of February.
Rose is the Founder and Executive Director of Ramoth Hospitality Channel (RHC), a youth-oriented organization with core values of love, passion and godliness. RHC came into light through her civic engagement team, Team Ramoth Volunteers.
Team Ramoth Volunteers (TRV) is a non-profit, independently managed, faith and community-based organization. TRV subscribes to a godly code of ethics and standards of practice outlined by the United Nations key document; “Universal Declaration on Volunteering”. TRV’s membership pledge is Romans 11:6 (MSG) and motto; Radical and relentless service to humanity. The mission of TRV is as follows;
i) Increasing awareness for youth volunteerism.
ii) Recruitment, training and support of volunteers.
iii) Enrollment of volunteers in host organizations for duration of project.
iv) Advocating for proper mobilization, management and recognition of volunteers.
v) Regular evaluation of volunteers’ performance.
vi) Engagement in voluntary work within and beyond host organizations in various communities
TRV commenced operation in October 2012 with two volunteers. Currently TRV has a membership base of volunteers in Ibadan, Lagos and Abuja Nigeria. Since inception till date, TRV has supported the projects of over thirty non-governmental organizations across Nigeria. Some of which are; Cancer Aware Nigeria, Anabel Leadership Academy, Leading Ladies Foundation, Project Pink Blue, EMAC Foundation, etc.
Rose firmly believes the act of volunteering enables people to acquire new knowledge and skills to fully develop their personal potential, self-reliance and creativity. Through her organization’s in-house monthly programs, “RHC Inspires”, she shares insights on God’s perspective of the act of volunteering, benefits of engaging in the act of volunteering, etc.
In 2015, because of her outstanding work, the Wise Women International & Connecting Hearts Initiative awarded Rose as the Exceptional Young Christian Woman of the Year. The year 2018 started on a bright note for Rose as she was awarded a placement in the Accelerate Labs Stream 2 program, an initiative of The Future Africa Project and Microsoft Nigeria for outstanding youths.
Therefore, we nominate Rose Chinaza Okafor as Vertopia’s Super Woman for the month of February 2018!
